Frequently Asked Questions

  • How will I know if you are the right therapist for me?

The only way to know for sure is to schedule a session. I expect most clients to have a good sense of whether I am the right therapist to help them within the first 1-3 sessions. I do offer a free 15-minute consultation to all prospective clients.

  • Do you provide in-person or online counseling?

All counseling sessions are conducted via a secure and easy-to-use telehealth platform (similar to Zoom) or in-person at my office on Mondays and Fridays.

  • Is online counseling right for me?

Online therapy works best for those with mild to moderate symptoms (not people who are suicidal or in crisis), who can easily navigate the use of technology and have a quiet, private place to engage in sessions.

  • Who do you work with?

I provide therapy services for couples who reside in California, Minnesota, and North Carolina. I specialize in managing significant life transitions and helping couples navigate relationship difficulties such as repairing their relationship in the aftermath of an affair or making the decision to end their relationship or marriage. I also occasionally offer therapy groups focused on supporting individuals navigating the next chapter of their lives post separation/divorce.

  • How long do appointments last?

Couples therapy sessions are generally 60- 90 minutes.  Ideally, we would begin with 90-minute sessions and decrease session length as progress in treatment goals and planning is achieved. This allows sufficient time for assessment, diving deep, and practicing strategies in session. We can discuss this further in our initial session together.

  • How often will we meet?

To begin, I recommend meeting once a week. I find it’s important to establish rapport and a good rhythm for our work together in the beginning and adjust based on your needs as things progress in your therapy journey.

  • How much do you charge?

    For traditional couples therapy:

Initial session: $250 for 90 minutes, includes online Gottman assessments

    90-minute session: $200

Ideal for deeper exploration, complex transitions, or when both partners need time to feel heard and understood.

    60-minute session: $165

A focused, efficient space to address immediate concerns, clarify goals, or build momentum in your relationship work.

For Discernment Counseling (5 sessions max)

Initial session: $300 for 120 minutes, includes Gottman assessments

    Ongoing: $200 for 90-120 minutes

For Uncoupling / Post Divorce and Separation:

$175 for 60 minutes, including initial session

Shorter sessions are more concentrated and often require more preparation and follow-up. The fee reflects the intensity and value of that focused time. Longer sessions offer spaciousness for deeper work and are priced to support accessibility and continuity.

Payment is due at the time of service.

  • Do you accept insurance?

We operate as an out-of-network provider and offer Superbill Statements for reimbursement if applicable. Payment is due at the time of service.

My standard fee reflects the sustainability of my practice and the care I provide. I reserve a portion of my caseload for sliding scale and pro bono clients to ensure access for those facing financial hardship. Let’s talk about what’s possible.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

I require 24 hours' notice of cancellation, or you will need to pay for the appointment in full. An occasional exception may be made in the case of an emergency. It’s important that we meet consistently in order to make progress.
