"Change is hard at first, messy in the middle, and gorgeous at the end."

Kila R. Carrier, MSW, LCSW

I am glad you're here.

The first thing that I want you to understand about me is that I am deeply passionate about the work that I do. I know that it is a huge privilege to support others as they navigate the complexities of life and relationships.  I recognize that relationships go through different seasons. Some bring connection and growth; others bring stress, distance, or uncertainty. Whether you're facing a major transition, working through conflict, or simply feeling stuck, you don’t have to feel defeated. I offer a space where you and your partner can explore what’s happening beneath the surface, strengthen your communication, and uncover what’s possible—whether that means rebuilding, redefining, or finding a new path forward.

In addition to working with couples, I am also committed to supporting individuals navigating the difficult journey of a divorce. I understand how it can be lonely and riddled with uncertainty, grief, and angst. It is essential to feel supported as you navigate what's next for yourself, and a support group led by me may be the resource you need to rediscover hope and feel excited about the next chapter.

If you’re ready to move forward with more clarity and less overwhelm, I am here and ready to support you. I

look forward to working with you!

Professional Credentials and Background

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker serving clients in California  (#CA79748), Minnesota (#33199), and North Carolina (#C015659). I earned my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee in 2011, and I completed my postgraduate training at Travis Air Force Base with the United States Air Force from 2013 to 2015. I also hold a Certificate in Sex Therapy from the California Institute of Integral Studies (2023). I have over 7 years of experience in crisis intervention and suicide prevention, which deepens my ability to support clients through high-stress transitions and emotionally charged moments.

Who I work with

I work best with couples who are ready for change and willing to sit in discomfort—because that’s often where the most meaningful shifts happen. My style is direct, collaborative, and integrative. I tailor each session to your unique needs and relationship dynamics, never relying on a one-size-fits-all model. You can expect a safe, affirming space where honesty is welcomed and growth is possible. My clinical approach is integrative and is often informed by my training in Gottman Method (Level 3 trained), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, discernment counseling, and Solution-Focused therapy.

Areas of Focus:
